I am Juliet Opoku, a multidisciplinary healthcare provider, Psychotherapist (Q), and the CEO of Living A Balance Life Inc. (Balance Life Psychotherapy). I provide secure virtual counselling and psychotherapy to individuals and families across Ontario and beyond, with a strong focus on increasing access to mental health care.

I bring over 22 years of experience in nursing, mental health, chronic illness management, and counselling psychology into my therapeutic work. I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and I am a Registered Nurse. I am also a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE), Certified Bariatric Educator (CBE), and Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) provider. In recognition of my contributions to community wellness and health advocacy, I was honoured to receive an Honorary Doctorate in Health.

At Balance Life Psychotherapy, I use a multimodal, evidence-based approach to psychotherapy, tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals. My work integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), trauma-informed and strengths-based care, mindfulness-based interventions, solution-focused therapy, and psychoeducation. This flexible approach supports clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, burnout, relationship challenges, life transitions, and the emotional impact of chronic illness.

Balance Life psychotherapy is intentionally virtual-only, allowing me to remove barriers such as travel, time constraints, mobility challenges, and geographic limitations. Clients can access confidential, culturally responsive, and spiritually respectful care from the comfort and privacy of their own space.

My practice is grounded in cultural humility, equity, and compassion, with particular sensitivity to the needs of newcomers, caregivers, professionals, and individuals from marginalized or underserved communities. By addressing the interconnectedness of mind, body, culture, and lived experience, I support clients in restoring balance, building resilience, and moving toward optimal mental and emotional health.

Session Structure: * Individual and group sessions are 50 minutes long and delivered virtually. * Therapy is collaborative, goal-oriented, and strengths-based * Treatment includes ongoing consent, regular goal reviews, and flexibility based on client needs. * All services are virtual-only, making them accessible, flexible, and private.
